Fresh Bottom Paint for a 30′ Mainship Pilot – Trinidad Pro 1086 Red
At Bob and Annie’s Boatyard, we recently completed a full bottom paint job on a 30-foot Mainship Pilot, giving this classic cruiser a fresh start below the waterline.
We began by hauling the vessel out of the water and giving the hull a thorough pressure wash to remove marine growth and residue. Our team then carefully sanded the hull to ensure proper adhesion for the new coating.
For long-lasting protection, we applied two coats of Trinidad Pro 1086 red bottom paint, a high-performance antifouling paint known for its durability and superior protection against barnacles and marine fouling—perfect for Florida waters.
In addition to the bottom paint, we coated the running gear with a protective prop coating, changed out all the zinc anodes to keep electrolysis at bay, and replaced aging thru-hull fittings to ensure the boat is safe and seaworthy.
